Cervical Cancer Awareness and Screening Program

On 31st May, Wage Foundation successfully held a Cervical Cancer Awareness and Screening Program in partnership with Zenzero Associazione, with the goal of raising awareness and promoting preventive health among women in our community.

The event brought together over 200 community members, who received vital education on cervical cancer—its causes, prevention, and the importance of early detection. As part of the initiative, 60 eligible women underwent cervical cancer screening, a key step in early intervention and saving lives.

This was not just a cervical screening event, it was a comprehensive health outreach. Participants were screened for hypertension, diabetes, and hepatitis B, allowing for a broader understanding of their health status. Individuals who tested negative for hepatitis B received vaccinations on-site, and tetanus vaccinations were provided to women of reproductive age as a preventative measure.

Our multidisciplinary team including nurses, prescribers, supervisors from the District Health Directorate, Zenzero team members, and dedicated community volunteers, worked tirelessly to ensure every participant received quality care. Minor ailments were treated and those with more serious conditions were referred to the hospital for further management.

This event made a meaningful impact by empowering women with knowledge, screening for life-threatening conditions, and providing access to essential vaccinations and treatment. For many, it was their first opportunity to receive such services, underscoring the urgent need to extend these programs to more underserved communities.

To continue and expand this life-saving work, we need your support. Whether through partnerships, donations, or volunteering, your involvement can help us reach more women in deprived areas who otherwise have little or no access to preventive health services. Together, we can protect lives and promote healthier futures.

If you or your organization is interested in partnering with us, please contact us here or email us at wagefoundation@gmail.com

Let’s keep the momentum going because every woman deserves access to preventive healthcare.
